What is Staff selection ( SSC CGL ) Exam ?
The Staff Selection commission was established in year 1975 for the various recruitments under ministries, departments and organizations of the Government of India. All the IIMs operate independently and decide which candidate is suitable for their curriculum. It is conduction for various B group and C group posts. It is referred by students and aspirants as SSC CGL.
Eligibility for SSC CGL
So, the students appearing for CAT have wider choice, and can pursue their career in specialized branch of management too, like candidate interested in Advertising and Marketing can enroll in MICA, Ahmedabad.

Essential Educational Qualification
Based on post and recruitment applied qualification changes , below mentioned is the list of same as per 2018 examination:

The candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before 01.08.2018.
Age Limit
For Both Group B and Group C Examination - Minimum 18 years and Maximum 27 years.

Paper I and Paper 2 are mandatory for all students. Paper 3 is only for statistical investigator Gr. 2 and compiler. And Paper 4 is only for Asst. Audit Officer.
Tier III
In Tier III examination students will need to to write Essay/Letter/Application/Precis on given topics. which are most of the cases related to present important events related or India or world.
Tier III is only a qualifying examination.

It is more personal in nature based on Individual's proficiency and liking. Candidates may keep below mentioned in mind while preferring a particular post.
